The fan club is a nonprofit club that was started for fans since many of them were upset that they lived in areas where they couldn't get the same freebies as those who attended signings and events with Sherri. As fan club members, Minions receive publicity material for that year which may include: bookmarks, postcards, pins, buttons, etc. In addition, fan club members get special discounts for the Mighty Barnacle store and for K-Con. They also get some exclusive fan club materials such as the black fan club envelope, the Fan club holiday cards and some of the items that are sold in the store are sent free to fan club members.

The club runs Jan-Jan and regardless of when you join you will receive that entire year's worth of fan club materials. Such as if you join in December, your packet will include all the mailings that the fan club members received earlier that year and you will have to rejoin in Jan to continue your membership for the following year. Those who renew will get a price break since they won't receive another intro packet. If you join in January, you won't get the entire year's worth of merchandise at once. You will get the initial fan packet and then the other items will be mailed as they come out throughout the year. Likewise if you join in June, you will receive the materials that were sent Jan-June and will receive the rest of the materials as they come out later that same year.

Items and materials vary year to year and many items are retired. The total retail value of the intro mailing alone is $28 (not counting shipping or KCon discount) and factoring in the tidbits... priceless.

If you join after the first of the year, your packet will also include ALL items that have been mailed out earlier that same year.
